Located at Stratton in the Rainy River Valley of Ontario, Canada, Heritage Whitetail Hunts offers trophy deer managed programs, slightly rolling terrain of Oak, Aspen ridges and Cedar, Spruce swamps.
A majority of the deer are in excess of 300 lbs., and have solid genetics. Many outfits make these claims, we have the proof! Check out the testimonials of these professional big Game Hunters
At Heritage Whitetail we have several thousand acres of private owned & leased land in the Rainy River Valley. This is free ranging, non fenced hunt area. The famous Rainy River is the south border of the ranch. Our family has been in this area since 1914.
Since 1998 we have been in a trophy deer management program.
We have purposely limited the hunts each consecutive year.
Our summer feed program includes carefully managed alfalfa, chicory and clover plots with mineral licks throughout the forest and along the creeks and river.
In the fall, winter and spring we have 29 programmable feeders ranging from 300-3000 lb. capacities in the food plots. We also use HQ alfalfa hay as a supplement. Our preferred feeder is The American Hunter timed trough feeder, to move the deer throughout the property in daylight hours. It is legal to hunt over feeders.
We have several miles of forest access roads throughout the property. The terrain is slightly rolling with oak ridges, aspen ridges, cedar and spruce swamps. We have carefully integrated our food plots into this wilderness landscape.
Our guides wear Scent Blocker Plus Clothing by Robinson Outdoors. We encourage all of our hunters to do the same.
We have a new log lodge on the property for meals and accommodations. The lodge features Scandinavian hewn logs and all the amenities. The great room has a beautiful view, looking southwest, over the Rainy River.
Our hunters will arrive at our base for dinner the first night. They will be introduced to our staff and guides and will be briefed on the next day’s hunt. Breakfast will be served at 5:00 a.m. then they will be taken to their stand. A hearty lunch will be packed for each hunter. We expect our hunters to stay on stand all day. It is a good idea to bring along a thermos and good fieldglasses. We have a communication system in place to assist those who bag their Trophy.
We are taking a very limited number of hunters to preserve our buck quality and quantity, first come first serve basis. We are asking for a 50% deposit to hold your hunt and the balance upon arrival. All deposits are non-refundable.
Our deer are large bodied, have excellent genetics, excellent feed and select minerals to produce B & C and P & Y quality bucks.
